Canadian's don't like Africans or Middle Easterners.

About four in 10 residents answered that all ethnic groups would be equally welcomed. Another two in 10 refused to answer. But, of those who took the plunge, here is the response to “which group do you think would be most welcomed?”

- Europeans: 18 per cent

- Asians: 15 per cent

- South Asians: 5 per cent

- Middle Easterners: 2 per cent

- Africans: 1 per cent

meh. Not particularly surprising.

I think a lot of Americans would answer the same way.

People tend to be "welcoming" to people who most closely resemble themselves.

...which makes leaving ones country (or neighborhood) hard.
