Any truth to this? When the Jews Attacked the Asians

So it is astonishing that a century ago, another “ethnic group” with essentially the same reputation undertook a campaign to slander the Asians with the vilest language and pushed for laws to get them banned from entering the country. That aggressive mob was NOT the Ku Klux Klan, or the Nazis, or an early Al-Qaeda—it was the “Chosen People of the Bible,” the Caucasian American Jews. When the dust settled, the Asians were labeled the “Yellow Peril,” and they were all popularly believed to be drug addicts, rapists and despoilers of White women, and natural criminals. Sound familiar? All American ports were legally closed to any Asian immigrant for two generations.

I do not know about this particular claim, but I do know that Louis Farrakhan is virulently anti-semitic. I would not believe anything printed about Jews in the Final Call.

I know that you've got your GoogleAlert set for anything that discusses injustices against Asians in America, but do you really trust a publication that honors the words of Louis Farrakhan?

This is a man who once declared that "Some of these satanic Jews have taken over BET? They got BET. They got our hair product people. They got Motown. Everything that we built, THEY got it. But the mind of Satan now is running the record industry. Running the movie industry. Running television."

I understand that this country, Jews included, have had a history of persecution Asians, but what I do not understand is your necessity to stir up the pot. What are you looking for in this post? Would you like me to apologize for the bigotry of Jews living in the 19th century? Is this meant to further your cause of depicting American Asians as a tortured minority? What's your agenda here?

And don't feed your usual response of "Woah, hey, I was just posting this, calm down." But please understand my frustrations when I have to see my religion put in the same sentence as "the Ku Klux Klan, or the Nazis, or an early Al-Qaeda".

By the way...the Irish, Italians and numerous other groups were all spoken about the same way at different times in this country's history. So, don't feel that the Asians are "special" in any way. Oh...and most people, yours included are still talking that way about the Mexicans.

Sir, finding a ridiculous article that cites Farrakhan as it's main source of information is not seeking knowledge. I enjoy that you like to stoke conversation on this board, but try to stay away from these radical publications. What's next? Are we to discuss whether or not the Holocaust occurred? Should we discuss whether or not the Japanese were liberating the Chinese and Koreans in World War II? Maybe this is the time to suggest that there are communists secretly serving in our Congress...

AW, you may want to take a look at "The Imperial Cruise" for another perspective on this historical period and US/Asia relations. According to the author, Jews had nothing to do with it.
