Gunshots 11pm Friday

Anyone hear them?

I believe it was coming from Bergen/Vanderbilt area.

I was in the bathroom, but I heard something that sounded like gunshots - about five in rapid succession.

My wife and I also heard them. She swore they were firecrackers, but I pointed out that people normally don't get involved with that during this time of year. I heard no sirens, so hopefully no one was hurt.

There was an ambulance and cop cars driving down near by, probably 5-10 minutes later.

Could be coincidence but I was thinking someone got shot.

Someone was asking the same thing on Park Slope Parents, as apparently there were similar sounds at around the same time on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. One poster said that Saturday night's 11pm noise was a single firework (she saw it). Perhaps someone/some business was testing out its displays?
