Cannot find a gas station with gas anywhere in Brooklyn today -- anybody have tips on what stations are selling gas?

A couple hours ago the gas station on Lincoln pl. and Bedford ave. was going strong. There was a long line of cars and tempers were starting to flare, but as of 7:00, there was definitely gas.

The BP has not had any gas since last night. Any other ideas? I have called a ton but they are all empty and have no idea when their next delivery is.

Is this for your car or a generator?

All the stations on Atlantic Ave were open this morning. And that's from No. Conduit to Rockaway Ave.

Apparently the ports have now been opened and gas should be back in the stations soon.

The ports are only part of the problem. The storage facilities where tankers pick up their cargo are still largely without power, and can't dispense fuel. And a major pipeline into the region remains closed.

I wouldn't expect the situation to get better for at least a few days.

Several newscasts have said things are moving along. I know they could be wrong, but I'm hopeful because not just regular folks need gas. The parks vehicles, emergency vehicles, those all need gas.

They don't need to get it at a gas station, so I'm sure they'll get priority on the basis of their respective criticality.

On NY1 last night they had a blurb about there being one station that still had gas, but it was been taken over by the NYPD and only their vehicles could get gas. Ha.

I was just on 4th Ave near Union, and there were tons of people on foot with gas cans waiting in line. It looked like maybe the station has gas but people are only allowed in on foot to fill up cans.

The google crisis map for Sandy can show fuel availability (at least at Hess stations) and since I last looked late last night, there seems to be a lot more gas in Brooklyn.

The map can also show lots of other useful information.
