Noticed it this morning. It's called PS Cafe, at 10 Kingston Avenue, between Fulton and Herkimer. Sign says it's coming Monday, will be open Monday-Saturday 7-6, and will have Lavazza coffee, French pastries, bagels, and free WiFi. Looks tiny but cute.

They have a website that features a photo, but nothing else yet:

And that photo is definitely not of their shop.

It must be just a placeholder. I was going to be impressed if that was a new coffeeshop on Kingston....

I've already stopped in a few times for my morning coffee and bagel, and I am so happy with this welcomed addition to the neighborhood. Everything is very reasonably priced, they use a good quality coffee, and the bagels are a denser, slightly chewier type that I haven't been able to find since moving to the neighborhood. The owner is a friendly guy who also runs an art gallery in the neighborhood - someone that makes you want to come out and support him and his business. If you live anywhere in the area, I highly recommend stopping in and giving the PS Cafe a shot!

    This looks related: http://www.psdesigns-bk.com/

And there are some other pics here: http://whereyoueat.com/PS-Designs--6480.html

Looks like the one on the website isn't a placeholder but an actual pic of the place, looks nice!

Meant to post that this place was closing. DNA Info now has it covered (http://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20140623/bed-stuy/donut-deli-australian-cafe-7-eleven-open-bed-stuy):

PS Design Cafe, at 10 Kingston Ave., will close its doors in August to find a new location, its owner said.

The cafe, owned by local artist Pablo Sue-Pat, regularly lined its walls with artwork and featured coffee and pastries.

Sue-Pat confirmed that he gave three month's notice to the building's landlord in order to focus on an upcoming exhibit at his 2ACGALLERY and to find a new, larger location in the neighborhood for the cafe.

Sounds like he is bullish on the area.

Opening in its place will be Piece of Velvet (http://www.pieceofvelvet.com/), a bakery with existing locations in Fort Greene and Harlem. According to their website they have at least six different flavors of "velvet." And it seems they're former staff of Cake Man Raven: http://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20130816/fort-greene/cake-man-ravens-former-staff-open-red-velvet-shop-same-storefront

A pic from their Facebook page:

    That didn't take long.

According to their Instagram page, the Aug. 16th opening has been postponed because of a gas leak. Haven't seen any word yet on a new opening date. http://instagram.com/pieceofvelvet

I noticed that an awning for a unisex hair salon recently went up where Piece of Velvet was supposed to be opening. Does anyone know what's happening here?

Last update I have was from the middle of September, when a neighbor was told by the staff at the Fort Greene location of Piece of Velvet that this store was delayed by a gas leak and some other things.

Passed by last night and there's already some salon chairs and equipment in place.
