Butterfly Lounge on 826 St. Johns (btwn Rogers and Nostrand)

Longtime residents of Western CH may remember that Eve's Lounge on Washington Ave was once known as Butterfly Lounge. Although I am not certain the owners are the same, I have heard an establishment of the same name has recently received its full liquor lic.

It is located at 826 St. Johns, between Rogers and Nostrand.

Now open -- serving food and karaoke

What? Buttafly returns?

There will always be a Buttafly!

Wasn't Buttafly the name of a place in Fort Greene which offered a soul food & jazz brunch some years ago?

It might be a more common name than we realize.

Given those attributes, they may have trouble remaining a "mere" neighborhood bar.

They may be "discovered".

Does anyone know anything more about this place?  All I know is in the warm nights the backyard is Very popular among the loud, drunk set until 4:00am.  I imagine closer neighbors are even more bothered since the backyard is surrounded by residential buildings.  Any chance they have the required shorter hours for patio space?

Perhaps they did! I'm out of town for the summer so can't walk by to verify, but Yelp reports that, about a year after opening, this place is now closed:

It looked like they'd built a nice backyard deck - I wonder if some enterprising entrepreneur will swoop in and repurpose it.
