Mrs Whynot reports the following:

Today, April 24, at approximately 5:30 PM, a driver of a Yogo truck (see above) was operating outside of the Brooklyn Museum and was arrested by police.

Post arrest, police parked van. It remained there at 7:30 PM, and now is gone. ...perhaps it was retrieved by annoyed owner of van, who is different than arrested driver of van.

Rumors or details are welcome. It is a slow news day.

A truck selling culture in front of a cultural institution? Me thinks someone doesn't like competition.

    Or turf war?

I am going to speculate that the police asked the driver for ID, and he had an outstanding warrant, or an invalid driver's lic.

...but I like your idea that he was a victim of the active culture yogurt wars.

I know the NYPD and the health department has been cracking down on food trucks as of late for any kinda of violation. Maybe this guy got caught up in the dragnet?

Yogo isn't even yogurt anymore! It's regular, plain old ice cream.

I don't know about that arrest, but I did call the cops on the regular ice cream man that insists on parking in the cross walk on Washington. They said they'd harass him to move. I hate that guy.

Did you know it's not illegal to stand in a cross walk?

Maybe there would be respect if we were still using "North River Bluestone"

Specimen Blocks on Washington Avenue Reaveal Gross Violations of the Specifications and Indicate Wickedness & Carelessness (is this title crazy or what????)

"North River Bluestone refers to a blue sandstone from the mid-Hudson Valley (mostly Ulster County) that was used extensively for sidewalks in the mid to late 19th and early 20th centuries. The "North river" referred to was the Hudson River. Although the Ulster County quarries are silent now (there is still "bluestone" quarried in the Helderberg area of SW Albany county)..."

Just came across this thread... not sure if it's related to the arrest or not, but a ton of people on Eastern Parkway called 311 to complain about that truck. The driver was playing their "truck music" (think Mr. Softee, but more annoying) over and over all day. I know the driver was asked to stop multiple times by the cops, so it's possible that he was arrested because he kept playing the music.

For the record, food trucks are not allowed to play their music when they are parked, only when moving...
