So pleased that our Brooklyn Nets have forced a game 7. Let's go Nets!

Unfortunately, they couldn't pull it off. Still, the team showed an amazing improvement over last year's dismal record. The future looks bright!

It's great to see pro sports back in Brooklyn. Without a doubt, Brooklynites are the most intense, most loyal, and most knowledgeable sports fans anywhere.* I hope the Nets will be Step One in the effort to bring back all major league sports to God's Country.

There had been some talk of starting a pro cricket league and of bringing back a franchise to Brooklyn. Now that's something I'd love to see. Few people know that Brooklyn actually had two teams in the old league which expired around 1900. One for Brooklyn, another for East New York. There's lots of room for a cric oval in Highland Park. Hopefully, some enterprising group will create one for that purpose.

    * I work as a mod in a British sports website chat room. We were watching a pro boxing match live from Brooklyn and the British fans said they were amazed at the great intensity shown by the Brooklyn fans.

The Long Island Islanders (a pro Hockey team) are supposed to arrive either in the winter of 2013 or 2014.

Hockey and Basketball players don't look anything alike.

...Although I am a fan of neither, I suspect I'll be able to determine what kind of event is being played on a given night by the shape of the players getting off the team buses.

Well, cricket is highly integrated with players coming in all shapes and sizes:

Given that a lot of residents from Brooklyn come from islands that have a British influence, a cricket team might work.

As your first photo shows, some of us could benefit from a little more exercise.

    For sure!

That big guy is a pro named Dwayne "Sluggo" Leverock from Bermuda who weighs about 280 lbs. When he is not playing pro cric he is a police officer and an avid fisherman. His favorite target being ocean marlins.

I have seen him play and he is what is called a "spinner". In baseball, that is the equivalent of an off speed control pitcher. Darn good player for a guy of that size.
