The awnings were all torn down recently. This is wonderful news. We have been very curious about what was going in there.

Lincoln PLACE; too bad, I was getting excited :-(

Good for Crown Heights though.

Seems like the bagel is the next big thing around here. the bagel place between atlantic and pacific is miles from being done. i peeked in yesterday. And the St Marks/Franklin place should open next month. bring it on....

WOO HOO!!! Even though the Feeding tree was one of the BEST West Indian spots in Brooklyn...I am excited to not have to walk to Franklin or Kingston Ave for a decent bagel.

I hope the owners of the Feeding Tree are open somewhere else in brooklyn..their soups, rice and peas and escovitch fish were DELICIOUS!!

I think they have a place on Fulton between NY and Brooklyn Ave. Not sure if it's the same owners of but I think the awning is the same design as the former Feeding Tree at 816 Nostrand.

I am SO excited!

I stopped in and spoke with the owner today, he lives nearby and hopes to open this location by July 1.

DOH inspection is scheduled for June 20th. He said he is going to stock a lot of breads, besides bagels.

Many of us have been trying to convince the owner to open a place like this for years. His major concern was lack of demand. Well, he clearly feels like now is the time.

And contrary to what I've read on this message forum many times, negotiating the rent was not anywhere near the top of his list of reservations or problems. Local commercial landlords are willing to negotiate and want gentrification type tenants who will invest in their spaces, and this does not need to be a chain.

I can almost taste the bagels!

I am so excited. I am glad that it is close to the Eastern Parkway/Nostrand subway. I will make a serious effort to pick up breakfast and coffee on the way to work, as much as I can! I'll have to trade off with Trinidad Golden Palace Bakery, though...addicted to those raisin and coconut buns...

Did they pull that image from the forum with out asking permission first?

They credited it to us. That is all anyone does at this point.

That's something at least. Might be time to look at watermarking software.

I think users understand that once they post something, it becomes part of the public domain.
