From the photo the dog looks like it's in good shape so probably not dumped. Hopefully you find the owner soon. It could be someone not very internet savvy.

Was there a particular part of Crown Heights where this dog was found?

...he may still be close to home.

We are making posters. He was found in North Crown Heights. He seems a bit dirty.

Definitely e-mail The Mayor's Alliance with info and a photo. They will send out a mass e-mail for you. And post flyers everywhere. Thanks for helping this dog in need! Unfortunately both dogs and cats are dumped all of the time in North Crown Heights so it could definitely be a dumped dog. If you need ideas of rescue groups to contact just send me a PM.

Checking in...Has an owner been located yet? Do you have a place to house the pup tonight? Is it a male or female? Can you provide approx weight? From photo it looks like a wire haired dachshund... Does that seem right? Please provide any details at all about the dog, and I would definitely suggest putting flyers in Mount prospect park, and along eastern Pkwy. Thanks!!

He's not a wire-haired dachshund. He looks like my little guy who is a Norfolk Terrier - so he's most likely a terrier of some sort. Does he have a temporary home yet?

No owners located yet and he is definitely a terrier mix. Vet thinks he is under a year - probably 7-8 months old. He is good with other dogs too. We desperately need a foster for him Thursday - Tuesday. Please pm if you can help us. We can do the walks, but are all booked for sitting.

Definitely NOT a wire-hair Dachshund, but a sweet terrier mix. Also post to FIDO for help.
