School discipline ....what works? what doesn't?

Depending upon who you ask, by putting School Safety under the purview of the NYPD, Bloomberg has either helped or hindered NYC's schools.

Some see the officers as too heavy handed, others think the move was way overdue. Most have complex opinions that I am too lazy to write.

Needless to say, schools around the nation wrestle with the issue, and once a while a well-written summary of the efforts is published.
