The Spot -Great dining in the hood

Just got back from another amazing meal at The Spot. For any that haven't checked it out I highly recommend it.

The food is great. It is one of the few places where rare means rare, and the prices can't be beat. The presentation of our appetizer looked like it came out of a food magazine.

You'd think we were at a fancy four star restaurant not our casual, corner restaurant. Been their for brunch and dinner -both worth the trip.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable without being overbearing. They'll turn up the music if it is a good song and get the whole place going.

Yes, The Spot has developed a loyal following, as evidenced by doing a brisk business and being open for 5 years.

Thank you for reminding me! We always forget about them.

I like the Spot just fine, but in all honesty, it's nowhere near four-star dining, either in presentation or flavor. It's just a decent neighborhood place with a friendly staff, which is something worth valuing for what it is.

Wasn't there a restaurant named Deacon Blue at this location several years ago? I guess I just thought they changed their name.

    There was.

However, I believe there was a gap between that entity closing, and The Spot opening.
