Has anyone been to an event like this (or exactly this haha)?

Just curious what type of people typically attend. I see that they are requesting only current or potential tenants. Would someone be required to currently be running a business or have a prospective business that they are actively trying to start?

I would just love to network with some of the real estate and business folk and get a toe in the door. It seems a little silly considering that there is a cost for people to be turned away (unless they are brokers, which they expressly state are not welcome).

    Thanks!

I know the folks that run this tour.

Thier goal is to fill the storefronts in their neighborhood with legal, taxpaying, businesses that will be supported to the degree that they are able to remain in business.

As such, attendees can be expected to meet the chair of the local merchants association, who will discuss the positive attributes of the community.

They will tell you what types of businesses are opening up, and which appear to be doing well.

They will also tell you what types of businesses are closing, and provide theories as to why.

As such it provides prospective businesses valuable perspectives, but one must always be on the look out for biases.... [examine the list of funders]
