There is a cat - possibly a stray - that has a collar like a medical bracelet with an I.d. Number written on it on Dean Btwn Nostrand and New York. I couldn't get to to hold still so that I could get a picture of the tag. Anyone know anything about this or have suggestions? It's very friendly, however I can't take it inside.

I tried to add a picture from my phone but couldn't. It's grey with darker stripes. It's still pretty young.

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and I'm concerned about bringing another animal in the house which may have fleas, etc. My husband isn't up for it right now. FYI, we suffered a flea infestation from bringing in a stray before and we don't want that again. I did set up a box with bedding, litter box, food and water on my stoop so that it would at least have someplace of comfort for the night. If you aware of any no kill establishments that I can take the kitty to, please let me know. I'll look online too.

The tag is reportedly from NYC Animal Care and Control, so we shouldn't return it there unless no NEW owner can be found.

Happy Monday ....here's lots of kitten photos:

It's a wonder! I imagine the sweetie pie making her escape from Linden Blvd., then somehow, through the mean streets of the Brooklyn cat kingdom, making her way to the original area where she once lived. I like that story and hope that it will end with either her real family finding her or a nice new family taking her in to love.

Do people against the killing of animals adopt cats from kill shelters, then set them free under the belief that they are saving a life?

meanwhile, kitty is sitting in a carrier. we are running the A number thru animal control to see what the story is. She is very lovely. She will be treated for fleas and anyone want to foster this pretty lovely Kitty?

she and another kitty were adopted by some guy and she ran away a month ago. the other kitty ran away a couple days ago. meanwhile our kiity was a stray at acc. she was found in queens and was pregnant. She has been fixed and was classified as a fabulous starter kitty.

I am so confused. So, is our kitty a mom or did she have an abortion? Is there such a thing as a kitty abortion? She ran away a month ago? Her tag was dated 7/9/13. How did she get here from Queens? Was she adopted by the previous owner from acc?

However her story started, I hope it ends with a good home.

Just PLEASE don't return to NYCACC or give as "free to good home" on CL, an almost certain sentence to a class B dealer or criminal sadist, who will torture her, ala Puppy Doe, and so many others. She is a beauty!
