I'm a park slope resident and student working on a business plan for a class. Our business would provide school lunches to elementary school kids and we are looking for input from parents of Kindergarten through 6th graders. We would REALLY appreciate it if Brooklynian readers with young children could take 10 minutes to respond to our short survey about this business. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FWPZ8T2Thanks in advance for your time!!!

I took the survey. It is a little long IMO. I would try to cut it down to the need-to-have questions. The business concept sounds great. I personally would not do it if cost is at a premium, but there are certainly ps parents willing to pay a premium for something like this.

If you can get the price down to close to what it normally costs i think many would be interested in trying. Then it would come down to this (assuming parents happy with quality):do kids like it? reliable, what if it doesn't come?maybe offering a refund after the first week in case it's not working out for user? I'm also working on a startup idea, can you take a look at this short survey?https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3H3HHX8Thanks!

Thanks! Do you (or anyone else) know about how much school cafeteria lunch costs? I will definitely take your survey :)

The average price of a school lunch is about $2. I would try talking to some parents who can give you a more specific idea of what they pay. Many schools (including PS321) now use https://www.mylunchmoney.com/ to handle the financial transactions.

i think $1.75/day is full price, but it can be discounted to $.50 or free depending on income. My 5yr old has been very hesitant to get the school lunch; only after some convincing does he occasionally go for pizza friday there. So probably an easier target to get kids/parents early on, than when kids are accustomed to and loving school lunch.
