Pet stores?

I find myself in need of a small quantity of cheap aquarium gravel - I've already gone to Target and Pathmark and they don't carry it.

Where does everyone go for their petcare needs?

I always go to Acme pet care on Vanderbilt, but I'm not sure about what kind of fish supplies they have.

I don't know for sure about fish tank gravel, but I've purchased cat food at a fairly big pet shop on Fulton - I think it's between Bedford & Nostrand; but definitely between Franklin and Nostrand. I would be surprised if they didn't have something so common as fish tank gravel.

There's a Petland Discount on Fifth Ave in Park Slope and on Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint. I wouldn't buy fish there but their aquarium supplies are reasonably priced.

It's a Petland that is on Fulton too (1216 Fulton between Bedford and Nostrand). Once I called for something in particular and they told me they had it so I walked over and it turns out they didn't have it. But other times they've been great. Their phone number is 718-783-3700.

For aquarium supplies, I haven't found much in the neighborhood. I head into the city to Pacific Aquarium or to WinTropical if I'm in the mood for some Pho :-)
