Is there anyone who has recently switched over from pedals with clips to clipless pedals?

I need to make the move for my road bike if I'm going to have any hope whatsoever of completing a century this summer.

What am I in for as I try to make the change?

Plan to fall over at least once, probably more. The adjustment period sucks.

i ride clipless on my cross bike and occasionally on the track. i really like it compared to riding with clips and straps and actually find them easier to get in and out of. i ride Crank Bros candy pedals with Sidi Dominators. i prefer mountain biking shoes because the treads make them easier to walk in that treadless road shoes.

    Are those eggbeaters?

the only time I hated clipless when when I was going up a huuuuuuge hill, came to a complete stop and fell over. Couldn't get out of the mf-ers, was laying on my side stuck to the bike utterly pissed off.

I second mountain shoes. Got mine for $20 from Nashbar, they have good sales.
