OK, we don't know that for sure. Do we?

By the way, where is this place on 7th, I've been to a place on 7th that I can't remember the name of, but it did have a good selection girly-stuff like face creams, Burt's Bees stuff and the like... but I never tried their phamacy. Not sure if this was the place though...

    Subject: agreed!

Ansonia Pharmacy is terrific ... always friendly, always professional, same cost as other larger pharmacys, and personal service. They have been in the neighborhood for a long time ...

It sort of does. I do like Ansonia, though. There have been several threads in the past where people have recommended them. But this is a weird post: "i know a lot of people are looking to go there and that is why i posted this post." Huh?

yes, exactly! personally, i've got nothing against Ansonia though i'm not a regular patron. but the post was just plain weird (like you said).

    MOD NOTE:
I think the term you are looking for is "shiller", but we do not know that about this particular poster. It could also be awkward newbie syndrome.
    What say you, parkslope1234?
    :D

For the record, we have nothing against business owners. We LIKE local folks in particular. This is a neighborhood board, afterall. We do ask that people are up front and honest about their affiliations and business interests.

Sock puppet if indeed. Trolls are evil, causing havoc and hatred wherever they go. Sock puppets harmlessly amusing.

Where is this place? I'm looking to go there.

I love Ansonia but you sound like a commercial. I root for Ansonia after getting treated horribly by CVS on 3 consecutive visits (including "lost" medication on their part). Fess up? What's your motivation?

    It's on 7th b/t 10th and 11th.

I have nothing against Ansonia, or John, but I think the best drug store in Park Slope is Palma. Everyone there is super nice.

One of the first posts I made here( and I seem to post almost every day now) was about a specific restaurant and boom I got accused of being a shiller, troll, publicist.. whatever. It was just the phrasing I used that seemed to evoke that reaction. I apologized for just nor knowing the protocol and all was well. Anyway I am just not going to assume that someone has a motive just because they are a new poster and start a thread about a business they like. Just my opinion.

O.K.... here is my most sincere publicity. I do not own this place but all my scripts are with Slope Drugs on 5th ave between 6th and 7th street.

They are just the best for drugs.

If I want face creams, shampoo... milk I go somewhere else but for gettinf prescruptions filled it is worth the walk!

Not a troll. A troll is someone who posts inflammatory stuff and just generally stirs up shit to goad people into responding.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet)

Not a sock puppet. A sock puppet is someone who's already a member of an online community who then creates a new account and posts as if he or she were a different person, usually to make it look like more people support his or her views or to say something he or she doesn't have the guts to say under his/her own username.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sockpuppet_(Internet)

A shill or shiller is someone who is an owner, employee, or otherwise invested in some way in a business who poses as an enthusiastic customer and pretends to have no official affiliation with the business.

So what about a business owner who is also a regular member and who creates a new account to deliberately promote their business in such a way as to inflame and provoke a response?
