Beer in Prospect Park

Some friends and I plan to play a game of softball in the park this weekend, and I'd like to drink some beers (in cups) during the proceedings. I was wondering about the park's alcohol policy, or whether there's some sort of informal code governing what you can and can't do. Apologies if this has already been covered.

Don't know if this has already been covered, but it's easy enough to answer:

Can I bring alcohol into the parks?
No, alcohol is prohibited in all parks.

From the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation website:

    Sorry, dude.

I think they do not give you a hard time if you are drinking out of plastic cups.

Ah... thought there was a thread about that somewhere, but couldn't find it. Thanks.

I say, if you have it in a cup, I'm thinking you won't cause a stir.

They don't bother you if it is low key. This means keep the keg at home.

Leave the 40s at home, too. Better yet, drop the 40s off at my place. ;)

I should've figured that -- guess I need to spend more time in the park.

i openly drink at bryant park every week. that said, i don't think some cups of beer would cause a stir at PP. so long as you're not being rude to others, in which case, if i am the "other", i will call 311.

    thank you very much.
