Does anyone else miss this place as much as I do??

I still keep the menu with my batch of takeout menus and often just look at it & sigh - reminiscing about how damn good it was.

It was such a unique restaurant, and it filled my belly so nicely that I'm not sure I'll ever get over it.

I need a hug!

I miss the MSS with every fiber of my being - what a core injustice to us all - but having no liquor license is a killer for any restaurant hoping to stay the course. Was anything ever better than their fish tacos???

I did enjoy MSS, but my fond memories are clouded by the memory of the occaisional long wait for food. Overall, I was sad to see it go.

I think the explanation I ended up getting from somebody wasn't that they went out of business for financial reasons. It was simply that the owners "got tired of running a restaurant."

I'll never forget the day I found out. I kept calling to try to place an order and nobody was answering. After awhile I decided to just walk up there and order in person. When I got there the grate was pulled down and there was a bag of tortilla chips hanging on the outside marked "Free."

    Saddest. Thing. Ever.

I really loved the MSC too - really not like anything else around. Though I'll always remember going there soon before they closed up. I went in to pick up some food and the cook was having a horrific argument with someone in the back room - screaming and yelling, I thought I was going to hear shots. Eventually the cook appeared and ran out the front door looking very upset. I should have known then that something was not going well...
