I'm surprised to hear TWC doesn't serve that area. This doesn't help you but we get TWC Roadrunner about 10 blocks away on Hall St.

crazy. at least TWC is in the process of moving in. I've heard bad things about cablevision.

I have DirecTV satellite, and some of my neighbors have Optimum...we all seem to be satisfied w/ those.

Don't know how TWC and Cablevision originally split up the burg, but it always seemed like TWC got the higher rent districts and Cablevision got the working class nabes. I'm not surprised at all.

I hear you. Though I'd be surprised if my block was considered "higher rent" than the one mentioned in this post.

Also I need to amend my original post, I've heard bad things about RCN, not about Cablevision. I don't know anything about Cablevision.

Totally off topic, but regarding boundaries...had to do some city gov business and went to the nearest regional office--at Classon & Dekalb. However, the lady at the front desk told me that where I live (Clinton Ave. between Greene & Gates) was in 10038 and the office DID NOT service that zip. The nearest office for my zip was in Bushwick

    Subject: Cable Service areas

After talking to both Time Warner and Cablevision, they both agreed that Classon Ave. is the arbitrary dividing line that these guys used to carve up their service areas. West of Classon is Time Warner. East of Classon is Cablevision. I'm sure there may be exceptions to this, but that's their official line.

yeah, cablevision got all the bronx and the -ahem- lower-rent sections of Brooklyn when this was all divvied up back in the 1980's.
various other companies split the rest of the city ... but they were all bought out by time warner in the late '90's.

I am East of Classon...by literally three houses on Lafayette. We have Cablevision throughout our building and it does fine by us. We have all the On Demand. We don't get the Style Station, but otherwise it's all good.
