Anyone know of a place in the neighbs that fixes vaccuum cleaners? BTW don't buy a Eureka "the boss" SmartVac. It's a poorly designed piece of junk, no matter what they tell you at Bad Breath and Beyond.

Brooks guys are great. They're polite and they know what they're talking about.

bumping this to say that we went to brookes today to get a new vacuum, and they are super! we had an online offer for the model we wanted that was $100 less than their price, so we called and they said they would honor it. we ended up instead taking their deal -- regular price but with a $200 extra thrown in -- but we didn't feel at all pressured to do so. they were great salesmen, very knowledgeable and nice to talk to.

they also repair sewing machines and sell sewing machines, ACs, and other appliances.

value-added: they are gorgeous identical (or close enough) brothers.

one caveat -- their website is inadequate. they have lots more than it looks like online.

I purchased an awful vacuum (Eureka) from Bed Bath and Beyond, tried it out for a month, and took it back. BBB has a great return policy. Take the vac back if you don't like it.
