We had dinner here this eve.. the first night the Restaurant was open.. Italian.. but don't think veal parm.. Italian like REAL food as served in Italy. Had fried Calmari.. better than Catene (which is the best in neighborhood) and octopus salad with white beans, red onions that was delicious and a pasta dish with red sauce so we could see what the red sauce was about and it was excellent. The wine list was lovely.. The dessert was apple tart and gelato. The tart was freshly baked.. no kidding and the waiter told us it would take some time to prepare... well worth waiting for..

Any restaurant that could do this well on the first night it was open will only improve..

I have no affiliation with this place other than that I live so close by and summer is coming and who wants to cook!! I am thrilled. The decor is lovely and there is an outisde eating balcony in the back where you will catch a spring breeze if we ever get Spring..

Is this what went in to the old Futura space (near McDonald's)?

Yes Flexichick.... I can't reveal exactly where I live but it is on this block. I witnessed the opening of the Boccacio Grill in this space which was for a time a wonderful restaurant... and next incarnation Bistro Futura Moderno ( a complete disaster) and now perhaps a rebirth to SPIRITO which certainly has the promise of rebirth to a very special restaurant in PS.

Try it before it gets too crowded...lol...

Yep Benin Brooklyn.. a little weird eating in a PS restaurant with great food next to Mickey D's...but trust me you won't be wanting to do that cause from my dinner at Spirito last night.. the portions were ample!
