I heard a rumor that a Korean restaurant is opening on Seventh Avenue near Garfield. Anyone have some info?

I noticed a small restaurant with Asian decor on Garfield near 7th ave (right next to Rancho Allegre / Hanabi).

Korean? I hope so. Our current neighborhood option (note singular form of "option") drives me into Manhattan's Koreatown and Flushing for tastier and less expensive Korean Food.

    Are you referring to Noona?

I am been trying to figure out what is going in that spot (206 Garfield) too. I think you are right, that it will be a Korean restaurant. A liquor license was requested to a company listed as Moim Inc., which is Korean.
But, can't find any additional information. Just walked by it today, and it is looking almost done.

No, the deli on 7th Avenue near 1st Street where I bought bad kimchi from. How the heck can kimchi go bad anyways?

I have gotten good kimchi from Natural Land on Flatbush near the Q subway's 7th Avenue station.

I peeked in a week or so ago and one of the owners (I think) invited me in & told me it will be a Korean restaurant. He said that it would open in mid-late May.

The place looks like it is within a week of opening and the decor is spectacular. A lot of care and effort went into building this place, so hopefully the food will match.

The restaurant on Garfield Place and Seventh Ave in Park Slope is called Moim. It is a nouvelle Korean restaurant and it will open in about two weeks.

    Subject: MoiM chef

I ate at the place as a guest when they were trying out var. dishes....
and it really is so yummy...great presentation so different than usual K town places.......

It will be a great addition to Park Slope and do not need to walk down to fifth ave for a decent meal anymore..
Also heard chef was cooking at the Spice Market, Cafe Grey and at the Modern........

    Look out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna be a pessimist and lay 20-1 odds that it will be a Americanized version of Korean food.

We peeked in during construction a few weeks ago and the place looked quite polished and sleek. Can't wait to try it; 7th Ave needs a little of 5th's pizzazz.

No kidding.. I walked the Grandkid up and down on 5th ave this Monday afternoon and was amazed about how at least culinarily we outshine 7th Ave by many kilowatts!!

Chef and sous chef is Korean and the tasting menu I tried was pretty authentic to me. Been to many Korean places in the city ( 32 st. K town) and the Main street in Flushing....
Now we can have our own in ParkSlope ........without needing to travel and dealing with feeling of being rushed..

    I am in................... :D/
