friday night - 7 million cops pulling over cabs on atlantic?

did anyone else notice this? my friend and I were driving back from manhattan around 1 a.m. and from the brooklyn bridge to when we turned off onto underhill, there were at least 5 livery and yellow cabs pulled over by the police. both sides of atlantic, and a huge pileup of them between vanderbilt and underhill to the point of almost causing an accident with cars swerving everywhere trying to go to mcdonald's from the wrong direction (er, clear sign of a drunk - pull them over!) while dodging the b45 bus.

anyway, just trying to figure out if it was some sting operation for cab licenses or what. given the state of the non-cab drivers on the roads, I was very happy my driving friend is a sober, native new yorker whose defensive driving techniques rival those of cabbies in the DF.

I guess there weren't any cars parked in pedestrian crosswalks to tow that evening.
