carpenter - recommendations?

Hi,

I'm putting some doors into the entry of the living room in my apartment. I'll buy the doors at Home Depot, but need to find a very skilled carpenter to fit them properly in the doorway. It's an old apartment building, so the angles are not square. The doors or doorjamb will need to be adjusted to fit right.

Any recommendations for a good, reliable, reasonably priced carpenter who does quality work?

Thanks!

OK, I called greenwood's guy but haven't heard back. He may be too booked up. Anyone else? Can you send me a pm with the contact info for a carpenter you've hired and who you would recommend?

    Thanks!

Well, no luck finding a carpenter...but I found a much better solution: Miya Shoji!

They're in Chelsea. They make custom sliding shoji screens. Perfect for that doorway, and better than a traditional hinged door that would open out into the space.

    AND they make futons, too.

Miya Shoji! is great. He put up screens for me in my manhattan alcove studio. Not cheap but not outragious and they did good work and showed up on time to do the install
