A friend of mine who works at FreshDirect just confirmed to me the list of the new Brooklyn zips; 11216 is indeed not part of it anymore apparently not enough people living in this zip left their email address requesting to be warned when delivery would be available there. So if you livein that zip you know what to do...

Anyway the new ZIPS are:

11230
11210
11229
11226
11223

They will start delivering there at some point mid-May.

Voila!!

Ive used the fruit one on west 6th. Im not a fish person.
but its convenient for stuff in general, and none of the supermarkets in walking distance are that great

I also use my local Meats Supreme often, its great, but small so selection can be limited

I'm at Newkirk and Westminster and they are finally here.

    However...

I used to get them all the time when I lived in Manhattan, but it's different now. The last time I had used them was 2005. I used them here last month. Everything was very very overpackaged. The fruit was overripe or underripe, and everything seemed to be $2 more than it used to be. That adds up very quickly. But, it was great to not have to lug kitty litter and bottled juices and cans. I don't plan on using them much for the fresh foods I'd rather pick out myself, but for heavy stuff or stuff I can't find around here, I'll totally use them.

And yes, I shop locally when I can. But being a neighbor does not excuse you from providing good service, good products, good prices. And I've never been subjected to racism or verbal abuse from Fresh Direct, though I cannot say the same for local vendors.

MY zip code is 11216 & in my mail I got an offer for $50 off my next order, but when I went on line to check I was not in the delivery area.... why send me this offer ???

I got the same offer last year (11218) and they did not deliver. They only deliver to parts of my zip now, but not my bldg.

I wrote them another e-mail to follow up and no one responded. FreshDirect sucks! I'm sticking with Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and the new organic place around the corner from me. Although that means a bit of schlepping on the train for goodies from Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.

11230 sweeeeeeeeet. I'm currently in 11224 & no delivery there. I have been seriously thinking of moving back to 11230 which is my old stomping grounds (Midwood), & today I see a thread about FreshDirect in 11230 YEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWW !!!

For anyone using a NYC Food Card >> Do you know if you can just call in the Food Card ID # over the phone to the local grocer to pay for delivery orders? cos usually people shop in person & swipe the card at the register, like a credit card. I'm gonna call my Food Card caseworker or the # on the back of the card.

Thanx my Brooklynians & Thanx JoshBK for starting this thread
