Hot Cat Sex

So is anyone else seeing an unusual amount of activity amongst the neighborhood strays? We've always had strays that run through our backyard (because one of my neighbors will leave food out for them), but this year the cats seem to all be in heat and mating constantly.

3:45 Saturday morning we were awakened by the sounds of hot loud cat sex which was occuring somewhere out back. It went on forever. I'm not a hater, but the early morning sexcapades of the feline population are starting to become a bit trying. This is in no small part due to the fact that the cats appear to get going just as the humans are starting to quiet down for the night.

Is the area behind my house just a cat's cathouse, or are you guys experiencing the same thing?

There's been a female in our backyards yowling constantly for a mate for the last 2-3 days! Seriously wish there were something I could do to make her shut up! ](*,) The sad thing is when starving kittens start appearing.

    Spring is definitely here...

Yeah, lot's of cats around... It seems each house has their adopted cat (or two). The corner store keeps them well fed. Our adopted kitties don't make much noise but do leave droppings around. I've heard they keep rats, raccoons, possums & etc. out, so I don't mind. Cats go into heat off and on during the year but it should only last a few days each time.

Yeah, I knew a girl like that once when I lived in shared housing; actually an old ex of mine. The yowling was a drag. Except in her case things got better when she calmed down after getting kittens; took her mind off men.

Can I also use a super soaker on any upstairs or downstairs human neighbors having loud sex?

Cats need lovin' too. Hell, at least SOMEBODY'S getting some action.

Yes--just walk in and squirt them and it should discourage the bad behavior.

When the cats in the backyard start getting it on my poor kitty gets all ornery and starts meowing as well. It's meowing in stereo.

At least you guys have stray cats in your neighborhood. I'm pretty sure all the strays in my section of Bushwick are used as pit bull feed by the local dog fighters.

get a trap and spay/neuter & release. soakers are stupid, they dont do anything. TSR controls the population and minimizes unwanted kittens and yowling.

Anyone doing TNR work in Prospect Heights/Crown Heights? I can't take care of any cats (no room and I'm allergic, and my flatmate would have a fit). But I can help out if anyone is already doing this. PM if you want. Thanks.
