Any legal/accountant/consultant-types out there?

I've landed a consulting gig ( ) but have to decide on the best way to set up my business.....LLC v. sole proprietorship, etc.

I'm leaning toward(s) LLC, but am reading so much info my head is spinning.

Has anybody been through this, or can you recommend a good accountant? I don't like my current accountant, and want advice from somebody else.

Thanks!

feel free to email me. I'm not licensed in this state so nothing I say is legal advice. but I can make you aware of legal realities.

there's very little need for an LLC. most sole proprietors are judgment proof - they have so little money and assets that lawsuits are deemed idiotic. I, for instance, practiced law without malpractice insurance. who was going to sue me? my only asset was a 1987 volvo 240. whatEVER.

also, even as a sole proprietor, you can get bonded (like, say, a PI), so you can get protection from lawsuits without complicating your life with corporate law.
