Stolen Garden Plants

Three of our bushes were stolen today during the light of day. It seems we need to start locking all our plants down. We are located on Park Place between Flatbush and Vanderbilt. Are the 80's back in force? Has anyone else had this happen? Wow!

Linda Yang, former Gardening Editor of the NY Times sugested weighing down all srubs with chains and bricks in her urban gardeing book. That sounds so sad. What kind of bushes were taken?

We've had this happen several years in a row. We now chain the roots. It's so sad, but last year we lost a rhody and an azaela. We also installed a security camera, which came in handy when a fatal stabbing occurred on the corner in February!

This just proves my theory that people will take anything that isn't locked down. Did they steal the planters and everything? Wouldn't that be unbelievably heavy?

the thief is a black male. riding a bike and watch on left hand.

my plants were stolen this morning. i have a camera system set up.

I'm gonna go back tonight to move all my plants to my back yard. i'm trying to beautified the area. but seems its not ready yet.

    plus i'm just so pissed.

does this guy only target new people to the area aka rich white folk?

i'm not even a gentrifier, i hardly make enough money to afford the plants that were stolen.

if any of you were relieved of a small pieris japonica, please let me know.

i found one -- without a pot -- on the sidewalk this morning. i potted it up and will add it to the community garden plant sale, but let me know if it's yours and i'll give it back.

i lost few plants forgot the names. but the ones i know are some wild rose bushes, some ever green plant that flowers, a Christmas holi. don't know the other names :/.

he just left some on the floors and took what he could carry on his bike.

after i get it on my cf card. i'll call the cops. planning to get back to the building tonight. and gonna call them tomorrow.

just way too piss about it now.

the plants cost me time and money. i barely make enough to cover them. took me time to save up for them.

karl, i love boxwoods. but even if i were inclined to steal them i sadly don't have a garden.

my insane neighbor does a ton of work at the PS community garden; be glad, sweet tea, you're not over here with her.
