Have you lost a young, sweet black cat?

I'm on Rugby Road between Ditmas and Newkirk. Stray cats are a sad fact of life here, but in the last couple of weeks an exceptionally sweet cat has appeared who is obviously someone's loving pet. She's black and quite young, I'd say less than a year old. She's brimming over with personality and is extremely affectionate and trusting.

Who knows what happened or how she ended up here, but if you're the owner of this cat would you please contact me at sdaniel13 (at) speakeasy.net? If she simply got lost or something, I'd love to reunite her with her family. She really is an exceptional cat and would be an amazing companion. I'm convinced she has a home out there, but has somehow gotten lost.

To be honest, I'd just adopt this cat myself if I didn't already have four at home!

MODS, can we get this xp to the Pets section too?

renopithicus, if you can provide a picture it will help to get her adopted. Good luck and bless you for fostering the kitty untill she gets a home.

I was going to take a photo of her, but not long after I made my original post above I stopped seeing her.

I sure hope someone adopted her and gave her a home. She's such a good cat.

I saw her yesterday early afternoon. I gave her some food and water. I will see if I can get a pic with my camera phone tonight. My digital camera is broken.

My wife and I started seeing this sweet cat again. This morning we took her to the vet, who is going to check her out, "fix" her if necessary and bring her up to date on vaccinations. I'm hoping that this will make her more adoptable and, if not, then at least make her life outdoors a little longer and easier.

We'll try to get a picture of her and when we do I will post it here.

    Stay tuned!

We took this cat to the vet. She was 'fixed', received all the needed vaccinations and tested negative for feline leukemia.

I am now happy, happy, happy to report that we've found a home for her, and it's a very good home, too. She will now be able to go back to the life she once knew as an indoor kitty, and she'll have the run of a big ole' house.

I can't tell you what a relief this is. This cat is really special and her new human companions are very lucky!

Thought you'd all like to know about this happy ending, as they come around all too rarely these days.

    Subject: So relieved!

Hello. I know I am reading this really late but am so happy to know that that little black kitty found a home. I too was struck by it and saved a similar one years ago from the street (in D.C.) When I did not see it anymore, I got worried. Now there seems to be another new one (adult, about 3-6 years old I would say) that is beautiful and attention starved. Do you know of any organizations around here that take them in or any associations dealing with the problem? It just breaks my heart to see these cats struggling.
