Damn Snooky's for closing. Their house special was 20oz of pure beef sexyness. Utterly delicious.

Anybody know of a steak retaurant in the Slope that can match Snookys?

    None, except some backyard grills.

It's not a steak restaurant, but the rib eye for two at Convivium is fantastic.

I love the NY strip steak at Blue Ribbon.

For a cheap and tasty steak, try 12th St. B&G - comes with potatoes and sauteed spinach and it's about $18 or so

Snooky's steak was horrible. We're talking crop and saddle marks on the meat. 12th Street Bar as mentioned above has pretty good steak as does believe it or not 7th Ave Donuts (rib eye).

Cheers - I'll chck some of those out.

Idlewild - I can't believe you didn't like Snooky's steak! I've taken plenty of out of town friends there (one even from Louisiana) and they all loved the fillet and the 20oz house special. Maybe you went on a bad night....

Nope. I've tried their steak a few times. Once upon they were great but went downhill. I've known Snookies since I was 10 in '75. Besides, aren't all Louisianians outside of New Orleans used to road kill? Maybe Snookies was like going to the Four Seasons for them.

    Subject: steak

I had a pretty good sirloin steak with two side dishes last night at
the Ale House (6th ave.and 5th st.). It was the special of the evening.
    Priced at $15.00.

Not everyone is a fan of Circles (by the Pavilion Theater) and its offspring, Windsor Chophouse, but I have had two very good meals at the Chophouse. The Argentine steak with the chimichurri sauce rivals some that I have had in Manhattan and at 2/3rd the price. There's almost never anyone in there, so I don't know how much longer they'll stay in business, but I would go back. The Chophouse is right next door to Circles on Bartel Pritchard Square.

Are these actually 2 separate restaurants? I hate the Pav. theater and even when stuck with seeing a movie there rarely went in to Circles at that location. The Circles on Atlantic Ave was actually o.k. for a meal if you were assigned to that neighborhood.

Yeah.. that comment of how few people are in there probably means the place has a numbered few days.
