Good place to get dreads

I've only lived in the area for about a year, so I havn't discovered everything yet.

My sister wants to get her hair in dreads. She's pretty serious about it.

Does anyone know of a good place locally, or anywhere in the BK? I don't even know if this can be done in a hair place since its a pretty intricate procedure. Is it a specialty? Do I need to call and ask?

Any advice would be helpful.

You can get extensions, but it's best to do it naturally.

Don't wash your hair, just soak and rinse it in salt water. Apply bee's wax. Use aloe to sooth your dry scalp and work on them constantly.

It takes a lot of patience and hard work but that method worked for me when I was still in school and I have really fine, thin hair, which is the hardest type to lock up.

you should also check out khamit kinks. they've got a pretty thorough web site and do an EXCELLENT job. it's pricey, but all of the results i've seen have been worth it (especially for a first timer who might not be well informed on natural hair).
