The Demon Squirrel of Ninth Street

I saw the damndest thing on my way home from the gym last night. In front of Barbes/Colson Patisserie on 9th Street, there were a few hipster types standing on the sidewalk talking when a squirrel came flying down from somewhere close to the building fronts, did a hot lap out to the curb, then looped back in and took a flying leap at the back of the legs of one of the guys on the sidewalk before heading off up the street at full speed.

Yow!

I had a squirrel on my fire escape visiting my cats through the window every morning at about 6:30 am. At first my cats were going nuts, then they calmed down and would just stare at him (well, with their tails twitching) while he sat there with his elbow on the sill looking like he was hanging out at the bar. Hasn't been around the last couple of days though.

Ha ... mine can't get out, but I've been kind of worried about him. But maybe he went on vacation.
