That is great! I love the bread at Balthazar- definitely one of the 2 best breads in the city (tied with Sullivan St). I'm looking forward to having a source nearby. Is that just their house bread for sandwiches/tartines, or can one procure a loaf there?

I got a baguette this am. A great baguette, delivered daily!
They also had one of the Balthazar multigrain breads, although I don't think it was that brilliant black bread with nuts that they make . . .

They look like they are going to make sandwiches, but I don't think they've started yet.

p.s. what's up with weekend bread at Joyce?
I had an eggy sweet kind of white bread from there at someone's house - Manor or a baby Pullman or something. It was good, but I like crustier bread. Anything worth a special trip?

how could we even be talking about balthazar bread in the face of the hostess cupcakes they make themselves at trois pommes? oh my god. they're not allowed to call them hostess, or at least some lawyer friend told them they'd be better off not, so they call them "mostess." and you know what? they're the hostesses with the mostesses.

cause the *balthazar bread* actually is from Balthazar . . .
but that would be awfully funny if they made it themselves and called it Bolthazar

Hostess did not invent the filled cupcake btw. Or at least I hope they didn't.
    :D
