bunnywabbits

This afternoon I passed a patio/yard on Garfield by 6th with two pet rabbits in it - a brown one digging a hole and another grey one lounging underneath the shrubbery. Cuteness! Anyone know this house?

Cute - for their sake, let's hope that the raptors of PP don't go roaming too far afield.

The people that live there were out in the yard as well, hopefully they keep an eye on things.

are they well fence in? cause cats can climb some fences and their owners would find some dead bunny rabbits.

Regular chain-link fence. I assume they would keep the rabbits inside the house when they weren't outside themselves. They were good-sized adult rabbits, not little ones.

I knew someone that kept giant floppy-eared rabbits inside.
They were litter box trained. They like to chew phone cords, or "destroy the communications infrastructure", earning the name Osama bin Bunny.

I had a rabbit many years ago who was strictly an indoor rabbit. He used a litter box as well.

Are they available for sale? I have a 1998 Mendozan Malbec that is just itching for a little thumper.

You know, I don't care what people eat, but I swear it never fails that any time the topic of cute animals comes up someone will think it's hi-larious to talk about eating them. :roll: I think it's obnoxious.

Are rabbits in a safe shelter, protected from cats and dogs...and chefs of Applewood and Al Di La Trattoria?

I've seen the rabbits before too, only when the people are in the yard with them. I've walked by the yard before when the people weren't out and the rabbits weren't there so they must let them out only when they can be outside with them. I only caught a closeup of the brown rabbit and s/he was adorable! I always look for them when I walk by hoping to get a glimpse of cuteness.

And, laura, I completely understand about the shitty sense of humor some people have. Whenever I've mentioned the bunny I had as a teenager one of my managers always makes a crack about eating them. I just want to tell him to grow the fuck up. Comments like those always seem to come from certain "foody" types who think since they eat anything other than the usual meat products that they're more cultured than the rest of us. Please... :-s

I jog everyday but only in the last week have seen rabbits in the park at night, three days in a row
I can't help but wonder if they are indigenous...

My experience has been not so much with especially 'foody' types but just people who eat a lot of meat and for some idiotic reason think it's funny to taunt someone who doesn't eat any. "Oh, you had a guinea pig? Mmm, I bet that would taste good on a stick." It's like jeez, don't you people think about anything else?

well laura. did you know that the guinea pig was a main source of food for some cultures and sailors use to use them as a food source too .

I know people have eaten them but when people are talking about animals as PETS one should NOT refer to them as FOOD, unless one wants to be a jerk. Please to be keeping PETS and FOOD as separate subjects.
