Child abducted at Holy Name School on PPW

Anyone here about this? Heard man had a gun and may be related to PP rape.

no sign of an amber alert or any other news of this. are you certain that such an incident occurred?

No- , this is the buzz going around the neighborhood. Seems to be more of an attempted abduction rather than a real abduction.

I think you are referring to the Lincoln Playground rumor where there was an ATTEMPTED abduction. The incident was not called in which means it might be a family dispute thing.

This was definitely at Holy Name School. The details are still sketchy since it happened this morning.

Didn't hear about the Lincoln playground incident.

it was a bodega robbery, apparently, and i did hear helicopters flying around for some time this morning in the area of Holy Name.

MYFOXNY.COM -- SkyFoxHD was over the scene of a robbery at a bodega in Park Slope, Brooklyn on Tuesday morning.

Cops surrounded a building at 17th Street and Prospect Park West at around 10 a.m. after the suspect was believed to be hiding inside.

A short time later a man could be seen handcuffed and taken off in a police cruiser.

There are no reports of any injuries. It's also not clear what was taken from the store.

True. But statistically most abductions are a family custody thing. Abductions by total strangers is actually very rare. We are raising our kids in a state of fear.

True, but if I used that playground, I would want more information before completely disregarding the story.

Still, considering that this thread has discussed an (attempted?) abduction that might have happened at Holy Name, that might have been at the playground, that might have involved a gun and might be related to a rape that might have happened, perhaps we should have information before reporting the story. If it's true, of course it's noteworthy, but if it's not, a screaming headline like this only leaves us numb when when real incidents occur.

unrelated story. when i was in 3rd grade. my dad use to bring my bike to school and i ride it home and my friends would walk with us.

some concerned white parents thought my dad was enticing kids(me and my friends with candy and bike lol)

this was reported to the school and a letter was set to all the parents. i told my teacher that it was my dad lol. he didn't brother to convey this to the school. I did my part .

What is the internet for if not the spreading of unsubstantiated rumors? Anyway, the thing that didn't happen at Holy Name is totally different from the thing that probably didn't happen at the playground.

To this day, whenever I hear the words child abduction my mind goes right to Ethan Patz. So sad.
