Endless construction above Atlantic Terminal

The corner of the Atlantic Center where Hanson meets Flatbush and 4th Avenue has been under construction for years now. The office building, the mall, and even the subway construction has come and gone, but that one corner, which doesn't seem to be such a big deal, is seemingly mired in interminable construction.

What the hell are they building? Why is it taking so long? Anyone know what gives?

(Note: I'm bracing myself for the answer to come laden with the usual fierce anti-Ratner vitriol, so that's fine, but if you can also squeeze in the answer to the question that would be sweet. Thx) ;)

It's the new entrance to the LIRR terminal. And the condo conversion of the bank building for good measure.

They were almost finished with the construction months ago, but they realized they had to go back to the drawing board. They realized that none of the halls would accommodate all of th triple wide baby strollers. Also, they're installing SmartFloorsâ„¢ to deal with those nasty people who don't clean up after their dogs.

    Oh...and Ratner.

they were done, but now they've had to open it up again and look for all those missing cats and dogs that people cant seem to keep.

Thanks! I didn't realize that was condo construction there. Hopefully they'll finish it sooner rather than later....
