I am seriously considering opening a yoga studio on Fulton between Washington and Franklin. Any thoughts?

My first thought is what a great idea -- my second thought is you've chosen a wide range there between Washington and Franklin.

There are commercial spaces on Fulton near St James Place and Cambridge Place that are available and would appeal to a lot of the new Clinton Hill regime. Take a look.

    Best of luck.

We have thought about taking a yoga class for a long time, and the location might just be close enough to motivate us to do that.

lol... Too funny. I'd be with you Kevin. Do a few poses with my wife, have a beer to relax.

Seriously, though, I think you'd find some real interest. The bottom of the new condos at 936 Fulton will be leasing space. There is also the former "florist" on the corner of Fulton and Cambridge Place. I know my wife for one would attend classes if it was so close. Also, with all the kids and new families, a class for pregnant women would be good too...

    Subject: Yoga Studio

    Thanks to everyone who responded!

    Subject: Yes Yoga!

I would definitely take classes! Especially if you offered good packages. I pay for a gym membership so I can't pay too much for additional yoga classes, but I do love taking yoga at a real studio. NYSC yoga is pretty bad.
    Keep us posted!

What about a yoga studio (or any other amenity for that matter) on Broadway and Lafayette--right at the nexus of Bushwick and Bed-Stuy?

i know the gf would hike over from PH/CH if

    1) you had classes in the before/after work commute range
    2) good, thoughtful teacher(s) leading various styles
    and
    3) reasonable prices -- i.e., not $20+/class, which makes yoga a luxury, not a regular practice

Yes, please. And having a Kripalu teacher on staff would be most helpful, at least to me, as well.

I'm a Clinton Hill resident, and would practice regularly (2-3 times a week, depending on class times) if the right classes were offered at the right price, in a proper space. Was very disenchanted with Park Slope Yoga when I lived in Crown Heights. A factory, not good for proper yoga.

As an earlier poster said, I'd also love a 6:30 a.m. class! Lucky Lotus offers a 7:15 class twice a week but that's already too late for me.

embora's more of a dance class place, not terribly good on the yoga front unfortunately

I agree with the post above and would personally be more inclined to support something in existence that has been supporting the community for years.

Although I have not taken Yoga classes at Embora, I have taken a number of other classes and would highly recommend them. I'm especially fond of Emory's Movement Class which incorporates yoga, stretching, meditation and dance. The vibe and energy of Embora are great and they even have live music playing at some of the classes!

You know there is a little yoga studio on DeKalb between Carlton and Fulton upstairs. No clue if its good or not.
