banks in the area?

Finally due to move to 23rd street after 6 months in contract (whew)! We need to open a new bank account anyway...can anyone tell me what's nearby? I know the area isn't flush with bank outposts, but on principle I hate using bodega atms that charge fees.

Can't wait to actually be in the neighborhood!

There is a Washington Mutual on 15th and 5th, Bank of America on 13th and 5th, Sovereign on 16th and PPW. That's all I can think of.

Check out 38th street and 4th avenue. There's a new Commerce bank with parking.

commerse is a good bank, i recently switched and i am very happy with them

yea commerse is great. im with BOA but Commerse has the penny arcade which is one of my favorite things ever.

It's a haul, but we bank at the HSBC on 9th btwn 5th/6th Aves.

Thanks! I'm planning to keep one of my accounts at HSBC because it is so convenient...so many atms in different neighborhoods.

Walk-thru/inspection tomorrow...closing next week...by mid-August hopefully I'll be able to change my location on this board!
