How is the Area? Eastern Parkway Bedford Ave

Hi,
I'm checking out apartments in this area today, and before I do, can someone give me some information about this area? How is it? Is it safe? Noisy/quiet? Are the people friendly?
Any information would be helpful.

You're smack in the middle of two very busy intersecting streets. With gas stations on both sides of the street, a mosque one block down and a few 24/7 stores to boot. Aside from that, all Brooklynites are friendly. Well maybe not Gerritsen Beach, but that's another flame war.

gas stations and 24/7 stores can be both good and bad. not sure if you were using them in a negative or positive context?

Neither. I'm refering to the noise factor.

Hope you like 99 cent stores,car alarms, chicken/ chinese takeout, plexi-glass and random screaming and noise. other than that its a cool place to live. People are friendly and the business owners are cool too. The noise is probably the biggest factor with that area IMO.
