Holy crap! On Sterling, just above Nostrand, I can smell it really strongly. A firetruck just sped past going towards PH. ANyone know? Phew!

FWIW Gothamist (http://gothamist.com/labs/map) has little pictures of flames at 1408 and 1453 Union St. That might be within smoke smelling distance of Sterling and Nostrand.

Actually, they also show something on 127 Rogers Ave, which is more likely. Dunno what it is.

Most likely the Rogers Ave address, much closer. By the time I left to open my shop, there was no trace of it, and I rode along Rogers. Hmmm. Seemed pretty intense at the time. THanks for answering.

Rogers Ave would also mean that the fire trucks you saw were going towards the fire. That's always a good thing

Very interesting if this was at 127 rogers. This guy has been trying to sell his place for a while now and he's been facing foreclosure. The building is a wreck, the tenants aren't paying and the guy is too broke to make any repairs. It is in such bad shape that it wouldn't surprise me if it caught on fire but it also wouldn't surprise me if this guy saw a fire as a way out.
