9th Street Gyms: Which is more crowded - The Y or NYSC?

I've only been the NYSC, but I've found it crowded at all hours. Also, the machines I like always seem to be broken.

I go to the Y, and I find it to be better then NYSC, which I use to go to.
The Y re-did itself a while back -there are SO many machines now almost all with tvs. Even when crowded I find the one I want. Thats my opinion.

I love the Y and Gretel is right. In the wintertime you might find a line for the ellipticals - but then again, in spring this year they got more of them, so perhaps that line won't exist anymore!

i really like the nysc on 9th. and i'm not the huggest nysc fan. the one on 9th is pretty much the best i've seen. not crowded when i go on the weekends. i've debated whether to switch at this point because it's a little pricey, but i really like the benefit of being able to go sometimes during or after work in manhattan.

i've heard the one on 9th has more action in the steam room if that's something your lookin for...

The NYSC on 9th is not one of their better facilities. Kinda small and cramped. Go to the one on Boerum St or the Brooklyn Heights one if you can.
