How is the area in Bed-Stuy between Macon and Lewis Ave?

I moving to New York from DC. I seen an ad for an apt. in Bed-Stuy between Macon and Lewis Ave. How is the area?? I will often work late hours and need opinions on the area. Thanx

i ve been living in the neighberhood for two years after i moved from jersey
i simply love it here

We are here just 4 months and can attest that Lewis and Macon is a great area.

I have been in this area for almost a year now, and I truly love it. There are a few restaurants in walking distance, a bookstore, and an art gallery. I find the business owners all very pleasant and enjoy the area.

I am also from the DC area and I think you would enjoy it here. As with any place, it has its crime, but I have never felt threatened or unsafe. I know others may differ, but it's a chance you take in any neighborhood.

I've lived on Macon between Lewis and Stuyvesant for 13 years and love it.
