Bad experience at diner on East 5th and Church Avenue

I have frequented the diner at east 5th and Church for a few years. I have put up with the bad service for years because there really aren't other options of places to eat out around here without hopping on a train. The waitress/owner knows me and asks about my family. Today, I was eating a salad and something was horribly wrong with the peppers. I told her and she told me not to eat them. They tasted like detergent! She yelled at me, showed me the pepper and kept going on and on about how they don't make the peppers there, it was a brand new pepper, etc. The cook yelled that I shouldn't come back because I always complain- which I don't. I wanted to warn people about going there- or at least about complaining because the customer is never right there. Has anyone else decided not to go there after a bad experience?

I've only been there once and also I was looking for a decent option to just get a quick bite to eat(but there aren't many choices!). It could be a great place. It's sort of quaint and a good diner is a nice thing at times. But I ordered an iced tea and also it tasted like detergent. I didn't say anything but I didn't really drink it. I sensed that criticism would not be taken well even tho' my friend & i were the only ones in there.

You should write to the Kensington blog! They seem to get the attention of the local businesses!

I've been sort of disappointed in that blog lately. It went from having a lot of potential to being sort of myopic. But maybe it's me...

I've been going there for years and never had any problem with the food or the service.

I hate that Kensington Blog. It has been highjacked by a few mean-spirited, racist, people who post the same tired rants over and over and over and over again. It really gives Kensington a bad name as a place where angry little bigots live.
