Jazz at Medgar Evers

For the last 4 or 5 weeks there have been live jazz performances every Friday evening on the steps of Medgar Evers college on Crown and Bedford. I'm guessing it starts around 7 or 8 and goes until 10ish... each week it's a different group and they've all been pretty solid. Does anyone have more details? Maybe the Inkwell folks know what's up.

It's back... Live Jazz on the steps of Medgar Evers College right NOW. Also, the Renaissance Cafe, across the street (Crown and Bedford), will have a live jazz band tomorrow night starting at 7:00 PM.

p.s. apparently pets are welcome at Medgar Evers Jazz... ;~)

I'm not aware of any schedule, but I'd imagine there must be one. If I see anything I post it here.

The Jazz club on Rogers may have more info, they are a few blocks away.

FYI - we actually visited this concert series thanks to the Brooklynian post. It was great! http://www.nostrandpark.com/home/2009/8/24/need-a-date-idea-for-this-friday.html

If you're interested, there's also some video of various live performances produced by the Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium available on their website, www.centralbrooklynjazzconsortium.org.

And thanks for the info on Inkwell. We'll be sure to include it on the site.
