Seeking one BR apartment in Park Slope area

I have recently moved to NY and am seeking a one room apartment for myself and my adorable, small, well-trained dog. I'd prefer the Park Slope area but would also consider a place with easy access to my job near the Union Street subway stop. Maximum $1500 / month, please!

Try ardorny.com. They have a new superstar agent with a number of properties in the Slope.

Thanks for the advice. However, I've seen some horrors from my craigslist contacts -- lots of people practicing 'bait and switch' (where they say there is no broker fee and there really is), and generally misrepresentation of the apartments. I'll keep trying, though!

Find a broker then, if you are willing to pay that. The scams on Craigslist are usually pretty easy to spot. I rented a no-fee apartment on there recently, and I know of many others who also have. Another good strategy is to walk the area you would like to be in and look for "for rent" signs.
