How about a recycling forum?

Where members can recycle things they don't want to throw out, like packaging materials?

I know I am new here--but I got this idea from another member's posting in the classified. And I know sites exist like this, but this would be much more neighborhood-specific!

Try the classifieds board. I just crossposted this question to there...Start a specific recycling thread (like I want, you got...or something) thread, see what people think. If you do, PM me and will cross post to other appropriate forums.

One to many boards right now in this man's opinion.

Although I agree that we have at least one too many non-active boards, I think it'd be great to have a variation of this kind of a board here.
    IF people would use it.

We generally don't duplicate things that are done well already, elsewhere. Freecycle and Craigslist Free boards cover the recycling of goods, but what if we made it broader and used it as a crosspost board, like Brooklyn Eats is now ....
"greening" postings (like the lightbulb discussion)
recycling posting (give me your packing materials, take my printer, whatever)
    environmental news,
    etc.

    Workshop this idea here....

    and what about a name?
Brooklyn Green (sound like the political party tho, bummer)
    Sustainable Brooklyn
    Brooklyn Recycles

I'm open to the idea if it drives enough interested parties to use it. Love to work within this community other than Craig's List and Freecycle (which I love, butcha keep some of it within the family :) )
