cell phone service?

Our daugher has lived in BH for a year, having Cingular cell phone service. She is good enough to still call us frequently back in MA, but the reception is absolutely terrible! Can't hear her, fades in & out, dropped calls, etc. Makes us all crazy and causes us to end up screaming at each other! The absolute worst is when she calls from her apt. When she calls from outside or from Manhattan it is much better. Any suggestions? Thinking of paying to get out the contract and change providers. But, we are afraid they won't be any better. Should add that she lives in the "fruit streets" section. Anybody else dealing with the same problem?

Can anyone offer any suggestions? What cell carrier do you recommend? Anyone know what company has the most towers in Brooklyn Heights?
