Cat Vet ?

We live on 6th and Union and I need to find a good cat doctor in walking distance from my home, as to not traumatize our old, lovely, cat.
Any suggestions and/or warnings?

Thank you all in advance.

Use the Search function - everything you need is already here since there's been a lot of discussion of vets on the boards
or go directly to Brooklyn Pets board on this site -- much of the discussion is consolidated there

Don't go to the 6th Ave Animal Clinic, even though it is right where you live. Search and you'll see a post from a few weeks ago about my (and others) bad experiece there. I've heard some good things about the 5th Ave. Cat Clinic (but see below, this poster obviouslty didn't have a good experience), and we are now going to Hope which I've heard great things about too. Good luck!

Stay away from 5th Ave. Do a search and you'll see my (now dead cat's) story. I like Prospect Park Animal Clinic, but it's not walking distance from you (or, a bit of a walk as is on PPW and 5th St)

we ended up going to Animal Kind on 7th and 10th.
My husband said they were really nice and instead of offering meds first, are trying out a new diet for our cat instead.

I like Animal Kind. I recommen Dr. Werner. She's really great, level headed, and is great with the cats we bring in.
